John J. McCormick III is the President and Chief Investment Officer of Telos Asset Management, LLC (“Telos”), a credit-focused asset management company located in New York City and a subsidiary of Tiptree Asset Management Company (“TAMCO”), a registered investment advisor. Prior to Telos becoming part of TAMCO in 2012, Mr. McCormick was a Senior Managing Director of Tricadia Holdings L.P. (“Tricadia”) and remains a limited partner of Tricadia, although he no longer engages in any investment advisory activities related to Tricadia.
Prior to joining Tricadia in 2006, Mr. McCormick had spent 19 years in corporate and leveraged finance including positions at GE Capital, Paribas Merchant Banking and J.P. Morgan & Co. He served on the Board of Directors of Kane Magnetics International, Inc. and has held the position of Board Observer on several private equity-backed companies. Mr. McCormick spent seven years on the Board of Directors of University Settlement Society of New York, America’s oldest settlement house, and had previously served on its Executive Committee and Finance Committee.
Mr. McCormick received a B.S. from St. John’s University and an M.B.A. from the Stern School of Business at New York University. Mr. McCormick is a former member of the United States Marine Corps, having graduated as the honor man of Platoon 1077, MCRD Parris Island and served in Weapons Company, 2nd Battalion, 25th Marines, 4th Marine Division.
